    Educational Decision-Making During COVID-19 in Ontario

    This presentation was done for the Canadian Society for Studies in Education (CSSE) conference. The presentation results from a paper co-authored by Prof. Stephanie Chitpin and PhD Candidate Olfa Karoui from the University of Ottawa. Both Prof. Chitpin and Mrs. Karoui are members of the Equitable Leadership Network.

    Becoming Canadian: Examining the lived experiences of recent adult Chinese immigrants to Canada.

    This presentation was done for the Canadian Society for Studies in Education (CSSE) 2022 conference. The presentation results from Xingtan Cao's, PhD Candidate, preliminary findings of his thesis research. Mr. Cao is working on his thesis under the supervision of Prof. Stephanie Chitpin from the University of Ottawa. Prof. Stephanie Chitpin and Mr. Xingtan Cao are members of the Equitable Leadership Network at the University of Ottawa.

    Safe and Accepting schools: high level EDI School board supports - Shelley Montgomery & Lisa Cameron

    Lisa Cameron is the Ottawa Catholic School Board’s Principal of Safe, Accepting, and Inclusive Schools. She has been in education for 23 years, including 3 years as a Department Head, 10 years as a High School Vice-Principal, and is now in her fifth year as a High School Principal.  Shelley has been Superintendent of Education with the Ottawa Catholic School Board (for 3 years) with responsibilities for the Elementary Student Success, Early Years, Literacy K-12, the virtual elementary school and two Family of Schools.  Shelley was a principal for 10 years at the Elementary division and has worked for two different school boards.  Prior to being Superintendent of Elementary Student Success, Shelley was responsible for the Equity Portfolio and played a key role in facilitating the development of the OCSB’s equity three year plan and Declaration for People of African Decent.
